Fandom is a securities trading platform focused on providing sports fans with access to exclusive experiences, perks, and merchandise, by buying shares in their favorite team. Fandom came to AE Studio looking to build an app to facilitate these fan investments, and serve as a shop window for the unique experiences and merch offered by each team. As part of their GTM strategy, Fandom elected to focus on women's sports first, with an eye towards extending into other markets in the future. Thus, both the experience and its visual container needed to be appealing, not just to users, but to potential sport franchise partners as well.

Foundational Brand Exploration

Securities trading marketed to sports fans is an interesting audience to court. It's an old money product, being served to a much younger, tech-savvy audience. Strategically, we opted to anchor the brand in what we called "loud luxury".

Visual Identity Design

The logo needed to be extremely versatile, such that it could be bold an expressive when needed, but also "get out of the way" when sport or team imagery needed to be the hero. I created a simple logo mark that could be used alongside the wordmark, on its own as a graphic gesture, or tesselated into a graphic texture.

Unique "Owners-Only" Experiences were one of the primary selling points of the platform. Accordingly, we needed to build a way for teams to showcase their most exclusive and popular offerings, while still enabling a streamlined traditional browsing experience.

Team Hub

The Team Hub is a central place for the user to manage investments, leverage their shareholder status to vote on team initiatives, as well as stay up-to-date on news coming from their team. These screens are where the dynamic color palette and team imagery really come together to create a more engaging and personalized experience.
